The Canary Islands (Islas Canarias) consist of seven islands of volcanic origin in the Atlantic Ocean. They are located off the north western coast of Africa. The islands are estimated to be 30 million years old.

The Canary Islands of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, La Palma, El Hierro and La Gomera are now one of the biggest holiday and tourist destinations to people from the UK, Ireland and Germany with more than 10 million people visiting the Islands in total.
